Full time -- CT/Radiologic Technologist /Medical Assistant-Patient Coordinator - Ortho Practice (8:30a-5:00p) - Orthopedic Practice
Under the general supervision of the physician practice manager for clinical functions and the director of imaging services for technical and routine general diagnostic radio graphic examinations as ordered by a physician and within established protocols. Takes general radiographic images and is willing to be cross trained in all aspects of patient scheduling and patient care.

Primary Duties:

Responsible for maintaining patient demographics and insurance records. Performs routine duties associated with patient scheduling, payments and co-payments. Obtains the appropriate referrals and authorizations as needed. Verifies appointments for the next day. Coordinates patient flow. Maintains waiting areas and reception areas in clean and orderly fashion. Uses websites for payers and is responsive to medical record requests from payers, physicians, lawyers and government agencies requiring such information. To assist in day-to-day management of the patient care area and obtain necessary patient information. Work with the orthopedic surgeon in the treatment of patients with bone and joint injuries. Orthopedic technology involves the application and removal of cast, splints and braces. Must also work with and instruct patients in caring for their injuries, be able to adjust crutches, walkers and other aids and provide instruction to patients. Sets-up, clean and turns-over room between patients, following established sanitary protocols. Prepares patients for procedure and examinations. Obtains vital signs for patients. Documents in electronic medical system.
Perform all general radiologic exams (x-rays) including fluoroscopy and CT. (Organization will provide training for CT as needed.) The individual accepting the position must be able to work independently in CT and X-ray.
Will float to the hospital and other clinics as needed.

Qualifications:

High School Graduate or GED equivalent from a department of education accredited program required.

A Florida Department of Health Radiologic Certificate (license), ARRT and BLS (AHA) are required.

CT Certificate with the ARRT and experience in both X-ray and CT is preferred

Minimum of 1 year of outpatient, office-based clinic experience preferred.

Must have thorough education or training in the basics of medical terminology.

Strong customer service skills and ability to multi-task while working in a high-volume work environment required.

Able to work effectively with team members, supervisors, patients and their families to accomplish team goals.
Demonstrated knowledge of computers and proficiency in the use of an electronic health record system required, E-Clinical Works preferred. Knowledge of web-based programs and Microsoft Office suite of products including Outlook, Word and Excel preferred.

Monday – Friday
8:30 am – 5:00 pm
