Full time -- Certified Medical Assistant or LPN (Ortho Clewiston) - Orthopedic
This position will staff the orthopedic office in Clewiston and LaBelle, Florida. Under the general supervision of the physician practice manager, this position will assist in day-to-day management of the patient care area and obtain necessary patient information. This position will work with the orthopedic surgeon in the treatment of patients with bone and joint injuries. Orthopedic technology involves the application and removal of cast, splints and braces. Must also work with and instruct patients in caring for their injuries, be able to adjust crutches, walkers and other aids and provide instruction to patients. Sets-up, clean and turns-over room between patients, following established sanitary protocols. Prepares patients for procedure and examinations. Obtains vital signs for patients. Documents in electronic medical system.

This position will float to other clinics as needed.

Qualifications:

High School Graduate or GED equivalent from a department of education accredited program required.

Medical Assistant applicants must possess certification as a Medical Assistant

LPN applicants must possess an active Florida LPN license

One year experience preferred. Orthopedic or surgical office experience preferred.

Bilingual in Spanish and English is highly preferred due to diverse client base.

Ability to communicate effectively with patients from various backgrounds

Must have thorough education or training in the basics of medical terminology.

Able to work effectively with team members, supervisors, patients and their families to accomplish team goals.

Demonstrated knowledge of computers and proficiency in the use of an electronic health record system required, E-Clinical Works preferred. Knowledge of web-based programs and Microsoft Office suite of products including Outlook, Word and Excel preferred.

Strong customer service skills and the ability to multi-task while working in a high-volume work environment required.

Status: Full time
Monday – Friday
8:30 am – 5:00 pm
